TRE & Neurogenic Yoga: Regulating the Nervous System to Expand Your Capacity for A Bigger Life
If you’ve invested time in personal growth, therapy, or mindset work but still feel stuck in familiar patterns, the issue may not be your thoughts or your effort. Often, it’s the nervous system.
True healing doesn’t begin in the mind alone. It begins in the body, where stress, trauma, and old survival patterns are stored. At Teal Yoga & Wellness, I work with TRE (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) and Neurogenic Yoga to support nervous system regulation, release chronic tension, and gently expand your capacity to hold more ease, success, and connection in your life.
These practices are subtle yet deeply powerful because they work from the inside out, allowing change to happen naturally rather than through force or willpower.
What Is TRE (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises)?
TRE is a somatic practice that activates the body’s innate tremoring response, a natural mechanism designed to release stress and survival energy from the nervous system. This tremor reflex exists in all humans and animals, yet many of us learned to suppress it in order to stay composed or functional during stressful experiences.
Through a series of gentle, guided exercises, TRE allows the body to safely release long-held muscular tension and nervous system charge. This process supports nervous system regulation by helping the body complete stress cycles that were never fully resolved.
Rather than revisiting traumatic memories or analyzing past experiences, TRE works directly with the body’s intelligence. The nervous system is given permission to unwind at its own pace, creating a sense of safety, grounding, and restoration that often feels unfamiliar but deeply relieving.
What Is Neurogenic Yoga?
Neurogenic Yoga is a trauma-informed movement practice that blends yoga postures, conscious breath, and neurogenic tremoring to support nervous system healing. Unlike traditional yoga styles that focus on flexibility, performance, or strength, Neurogenic Yoga prioritizes internal awareness and regulation.
In this practice, movement becomes a tool for rewiring the brain and nervous system. Each posture is approached with curiosity rather than achievement, allowing the body to respond organically. Choice, pacing, and consent are central, making it especially supportive for individuals who feel overwhelmed by faster-paced or more directive practices.
As the nervous system begins to feel safe, the body naturally softens. Over time, this creates new neural pathways associated with ease, presence, and resilience.
Why Nervous System Regulation Is the Foundation of Healing
Your nervous system shapes how you experience the world. It influences how you handle stress, how safe connection feels, and how much pleasure, success, or abundance you can receive.
When the nervous system is stuck in survival mode, whether through fight, flight, freeze, or collapse, the body remains on high alert. Even positive experiences can feel overwhelming. This is why people often struggle to maintain success, relationships, or financial growth despite their best intentions.
Nervous system regulation helps shift the body out of survival and into a state where rest, repair, and growth can occur. As regulation improves, many people notice a reduction in chronic stress, improved emotional resilience, and a greater sense of internal stability.
Expanding Your Capacity to Hold More in Life
Many people desire more money, more success, deeper relationships, or greater creative expression, yet feel blocked or burnt out when these things begin to arrive. This often has less to do with motivation and more to do with capacity.
Your capacity is determined by how safe your nervous system feels during expansion. If growth once felt overwhelming or unsafe, the body may unconsciously resist it, even when the mind wants change.
TRE and Neurogenic Yoga support the gradual expansion of capacity by teaching the nervous system that it is possible to grow without danger. Instead of pushing through fear or discomfort, the body learns how to stay present and regulated while holding more responsibility, visibility, and connection.
This is how sustainable success is built — not through force, but through safety.
Releasing Old Patterns of Habit and Belief Stored in the Body
Patterns of behavior and belief are not just mental constructs. They are stored in the nervous system as habitual responses and muscular holding patterns. Chronic tension often reflects past moments when the body needed to brace, protect, or shut down.
Through somatic practices like TRE and Neurogenic Yoga, these patterns can gently unwind. As the body releases what it no longer needs, people often experience a shift in how they respond to stress, conflict, and intimacy.
This process allows outdated habits and beliefs to dissolve organically, making space for new ways of relating to yourself and others.
Healing Pain Naturally Through Nervous System Support
Chronic pain is frequently influenced by nervous system dysregulation. When the body remains in a state of prolonged stress, muscles stay contracted, fascia becomes restricted, and pain signals can become amplified.
By supporting nervous system regulation, TRE and Neurogenic Yoga help create the conditions for pain to soften naturally. As tension releases and the body feels safer, circulation improves and tissues regain their natural elasticity.
Many people notice reduced pain, increased mobility, and a greater sense of comfort in their bodies — not because they forced change, but because the nervous system finally felt supported.
How Nervous System Healing Supports Money, Success, and Relationships
Healing the nervous system is not just about relaxation. It directly impacts your ability to create and sustain a fulfilling life.
When your nervous system is regulated, it becomes easier to hold financial growth without anxiety, to experience success without burnout, and to engage in relationships without losing yourself. You are better able to set boundaries, communicate clearly, and stay present during moments of expansion.
As safety increases in the body, receiving becomes possible. Life no longer feels like something you must brace against.

Introducing Our 6-Week Program: Expanding Your Capacity For More
Beginning January 20th
If this work resonates, and you’re feeling the truth of how much your nervous system shapes your ability to receive, we created something deeper to support you.
Beginning January 20th, relationship coach Jess Hendrick and I are offering a 6-week guided program called Expanding Your Capacity For More. This program is designed for people who understand that change doesn’t come from pushing harder, but from creating safety in the body first.
Together, we blend nervous system regulation, somatic practices, and relational awareness to help you gently expand your capacity for emotions, connection, success, and intimacy, without overwhelm.
This program is especially supportive if you:
Feel emotionally stuck or disconnected from your feelings
Intellectualize your healing, but struggle to feel change in your body
Want deeper relationships but notice shutdown, fear, or self-protection arise
Are expanding in business or life but feel like your nervous system can’t keep up
Want natural, body-based tools to regulate stress and build resilience
Over six weeks, you’ll learn how to recognize your nervous system patterns, release held tension, and build the internal capacity to stay present with more: more feelings, more opportunity, more connection, and more of yourself.
This is not about fixing what’s broken.
It’s about strengthening your ability to hold what you desire.
If you’re ready to stop forcing growth and start embodying it, Expanding Your Capacity For More may be the next step in your healing journey.
